Abdelhamid Bousaadi was born in Ouarzazate Morocco, otherwise known as the African Hollywood. He moved to Marrakech 13 years ago to pursue his studies, but the charm of city wouldn' t let him go.
Abdelhamid has worked in many fields including art, culture and tourism.
He worked as the manager of different riads and guest houses in the old medina, worked as a production assistant and translator for the 3rd and 4th editions of the Marrakech Biennale, as Finance manager of the 5th edition in 2014, and as Education Program Coordinator for the Marrakech Biennale 6 in 2016.
He also performed as cultural communication manager of Riad BE Marrakech and as member at the board of founders of the cultural art initiative: the KE' CH Collective. He was involved with many organizations that embrace diversity and promote the development of education for less advantaged communities around the world, like: Junior Chamber International (JCI) and AIESEC. He was the co-host, coordinator of TEDxMarrakesh.
In 2015, he co-founded the Marrakech Green Wheels, a local response to the ecological urgencies in Morocco by urging everybody to invest in protecting the environment for today and future generations, through workshops for students, and recently - as a leader for climate solutions at the Climate Reality Project - for organizations and private businesses as well.
Currently, Abdelhamid works as Pro Consul at the British Consulate in Marrakech. In his free time, he helps shaping environmental education and human development in Morocco. He is member at the Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum. He got his master' s degree in English Linguistics in 2013, majored in Critical Discourse Analysis. Abdelhamid enjoys movies, photography, hiking... and a good cup of hot chocolate.
He believes that everybody can change if you show them how. His mission is to do so.
